Hi tzevet (rising 9th graders and up)!
I hope everyone is having a great end of the school year- get ready for summer coming up soon!!
There are a number of reminders:
1) Shavua Gibbush
Our (awesome!) pre-camp orientation is right around the corner and it is mandatory for all staff. (If you have extenuating circumstances and did not already reach out to me, please email me at [email protected].) Shavua Gibbush will be the following dates:
Thursday June 22nd: 2pm-7:30pm (Dinner will be served)
Friday June 23rd: 8:30am-2pm (Breakfast and lunch will be served, day begins with Shacharit)
Sunday June 25th: Open House 8am-12pm. Followed by a fun activity that will end at 2pm! (Breakfast and lunch will be served, day begins with Shacharit)
Monday June 26th: 8:30am-11:30am (Breakfast will be served, day begins with Shacharit)
2) Staff Transportation
Our contract with the transportation company doesn’t start until the first day of camp, so there is no staff transportation for the week of Shavua Gibbush. To help find rides, I am attaching a Staff Directory so you can coordinate with staff coming from your area. If you are still having trouble finding transportation for that week, be in touch with Yair Daar at [email protected].
3) Staff Assignments
We will share your jobs for the summer with you between Thursday and Friday of Shavua Gibbush- so stay tuned!
4) Abuse and Boundaries Training
Thank you to all who attended the Abuse and Boundaries training session on Sunday morning! Reminder that the other session is THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT 8pm. Click here for zoom link. For those who could not attend either session- I will be in touch shortly with what you should do.
5) Unpacking Camp
For all those who are interested in helping set up camp and get paid $30/day (of half for a half day), hang out with friends, and have lunch- just respond to this email! The times are:
Monday 9:30-3:30pm, Tuesday 11:30-4:30pm, Wednesday 9:30-3:30pm, Thursday 11:30-2pm.
6) Recruitment Bonus
If you have friends who want to come work at MBNJ (especially second month!), refer them to us and you can get a bonus!
That is all! I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Looking forward to camp!
All the best,
Leora Orenshein

Email on 6/6 for staff aged 14-17 (working papers process)
Dear Tzevet
According to our records, you have not submitted working papers for the summer. This is a State required form and it was due on May 1st.
As it turns out, the process for submission of working papers has changed as of June 1st. No longer is it necessary to go to the doctor and your school to sign off on it.
Instead, you need to follow all these instructions (it looks like a lot of steps but it’s very quick):
Step 1: Staff Member Clicks on the following link: https://njlwdwfd.my.site.com/njyoungworkers/s/
Step 2: Create an account with an email that you have access to
Step 3: Check your email to create a password for your account
Step 4: Log back into the Department of Labor Website with your username (the email you just used) and password (the password you just created)
Step 5: Click “Apply for Working Papers” on the bottom right
Step 6: Enter your personal details including Social Security Number
Step 7: Enter details of parent or caregiver who will be able to check their email to verify your information
Step 8: Search “Moshava Ba’ir” in employment information or enter our 8 digit code (00005136)
Step 9 Once Moshava Ba’ir has approved your application, your parent or caregiver will be notified to verify your information. Verification includes uploading a picture of proof of your age (birth certificate, passport, drivers license…)
Step 10 You’re done!

Hi tzevet,
I hope everyone had a great Shavuot, and is getting excited as camp gets closer!
Leading up to our shavua gibbush (pre-camp orientation), there will be 2 mandatory additional training items:
1) We are having a mandatory abuse and boundaries training session. This session is legally required by the state, and this year it will be led by our very own senior tzevet member Chana Shefa, along with Project SARAH. This is a very important session, attendance will be taken. There will be two options for times:
6/11 @9:30am (eastern time)- click here for zoom link
6/14 @8pm (eastern time)- click here for zoom link
2) Stay on the lookout for a series of videos to watch with important camp info- coming soon!
Again, if you haven’t filled out your forms please do so ASAP. As always, feel free to be in touch with me for any questions or comments.
All the best,
Leora Orenshein

Good Morning
I hope everyone is doing well today!
As we did receive a few questions, I wanted to clarify something on your staff contract.
As your staff contracts indicate, all staff members who are working during the first month, end their employment on Monday, July 24th. This has always been the case for a few reasons:
If there is a reason why you won’t be available to work on July 24th, such as early departure to sleepaway camp, please reply to this message and let me know (we will pro-rate your salary accordingly since you are expected to join us).
Furthermore, we have a list of staff who have told us that they won’t return from camp (or israel), in time to start working on July 24th. If you are a second month tzevet member and your name is not on the list below (but you are unable to start on the 24th), please reply to this message and let me know. We want to make sure that we have accurate information in our system for the benefit of our campers and overall tzevet team.
Have a wonderful day
Leora
