Welcome to STEM at Moshava Ba’ir!
The MBNJ STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program is engaging, interactive, and designed to foster curiosity and hands-on learning among campers.
One of our proudest achievements at Moshava Ba’ir NJ is the development of our STEM program created and taught by women. This initiative is designed to inspire our campers, especially young girls, to embrace a passion for STEM subjects.
We encourage our campers with hands-on activities to investigate and design solutions to problems. Integrated into our weekly themes, campers are conducting experiments, creating simple machines, or designing and testing structures.
Campers are given opportunities to work in teams and are presented with STEM-related challenges to solve together, fostering teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
By incorporating these elements into our camp program, we have created an engaging and enriching STEM experience that inspires campers to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a supportive and adventurous environment.
Engineering
Engineering is an exciting and innovative field within STEM that invites children to explore the world of problem-solving and creativity. Through engineering, kids can design, build, and test solutions to real-world challenges, from constructing bridges to designing sustainable energy systems. This hands-on approach not only fosters critical thinking and analytical skills but also encourages teamwork and perseverance. Children not only gain a deeper understanding of how things work but also develop the confidence to tackle complex problems, preparing them for future success in a rapidly evolving world.
Woodworking
Woodworking offers children a unique hands-on experience in craftsmanship and design. Through woodworking, kids learn to work with their hands, tools, and materials to create tangible objects, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills along the way. From measuring and cutting to sanding and assembling, woodworking teaches children fundamental principles of math, physics, and engineering in a practical and engaging manner.
Robotics
Robotics introduces children to the exciting world of automation and innovation. Through robotics, kids have the opportunity to design, build, and program their own robots, allowing them to explore concepts such as mechanics, electronics, and computer science in a hands-on way. By engaging with robotics, children develop crucial skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity as they work together to overcome challenges and bring their robotic creations to life.
Coding
Coding, a fundamental aspect of STEM, empowers children to become creators of technology in our digital age. By learning to code, kids delve into the language of computers, enabling them to develop websites, apps, games, and more. Beyond simply mastering programming languages, coding cultivates problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity, as children tackle challenges and bring their ideas to life through coding projects.
